Anthropologie

After brunch with a friend yesterday I participated in a bit of retail therapy. The highlight of which was our entrance into Anthropologie. I absolutely love this store! The scents of their incredible candles overtook me the moment that I walked across the threshold. I actually purchased one that I have had my eye on for months. I now have that amazing fragrance in my own home. It is heavenly. I also took home the rug that you see above. The pattern is fun and whimsical; the colors are cheerful and bright. All I want to do when I see this design is smile ear to ear. It will go in the guestroom and hopefully make others smile as well.

Being the daydreamer that I am when I enter Anthropologie it is like I am taken into my own little oasis. I would love nothing more than to grab some of their soft pajamas off the rack and head for the dressing room to get a bit more comfortable. Then I could wander over to the house ware section and grab one of those big mugs with the large handle, make a cup of tea, pick-up an intriguing book, and go cuddle up in the amazing bohemian bedding.

The time that I spend in Anthropologie feels like it heightens at least four of my senses. From the sound of the wood floors creaking as shoppers soak everything in, to the smell of the Voluspa Santiago Huckleberry candles, to the sight of the amazing textures, patterns, and colors, to the softness of their sleepwear I am in sensory overload. If they added a bakery or coffee bar I might go into shock.

Is there a store that you love so much you dream of taking up residence there or am I the only one?

I, too, have an affection for Anthropologie. I realized it was a serious obsession when I found myself photographing one of the in-store displays to replicate in my daughter's room.

Which candle did you buy? I can never tell which lovely scent is coming from which candle.
