Recycle

I have just begun recycling. I know I know I can hear everyone's screams of disappointment through cyberspace. I understand that this is part of my social responsibility unfortunately it is something that I have taken way too lightly. In the past couple of weeks I have been amazed at how quickly I can fill up the recycling bin and horrified to think of how much I had previously thrown away.

When I was in the Peace Corps it was my responsibility to burn all of my trash. There was no garbage collection where I could casually pull my items to the road with little consideration of how much waste I was contributing to the local landfills. In Zambia, where I did most of my shopping in local markets and there was little to no packaging I was amazed at how much trash I could accumulate. As I make small steps to being a more environmentally aware individual tell me what steps you are taking.
